Vital Stats: This single malt scotch comes from Scotland (Speyside), and was aged in American and European oak casks seasoned with Sherry from Jerez, Spain. Aging time is categorized as NAS (no age statement), and no water is added prior to bottling. It was bottled at 58.4% ABV and priced upwards of $89.
Appearance: Sexy, sturdy legs. Rich copper, naturally hued from the casks (as with all Macallans).
Nose: Brightness of orange and peach, with ginger, real vanilla and undertones of shisha.
Palate: A delightful complement to the nose, this is smooth and toasty and smoldering. The vanilla lusciousness of cream soda, the warmth of ginger, the character of malt, the roundness of oak. The goodness just keeps coming, and lingers deliciously.
