The vineyard
Cornas appellation is limited by the border of the Cornas commune area. Here we only plant Syrah grapes, there is no white wines produced on the appellation. Our vines are planted on a very steep terraces of “Les Côtes” just behind Cornas village. What about the terroir? Granitic and poor, it encourages the roots of the vine to seek out the richness of minerals in the depths of the earth. As our entire vineyard this vines are worked with eco-friendly methods in order to respect biodiversity and our beautiful landscapes.
Wine-making
Each year the vines are harvested manually. Once in the cellar, wine-making is made in wooden vats and then aged for 18 months in 400 and 500 liter barrels.
Tasting notes
Dark purple colour. On the nose, aromas of dark chocolate, olives and garrigue are released. On the palate, Full-bodied, rich bouquet of aromas of black cherries, mint and liquid stones. Long finish on thym and guarrigue notes through pretty strong tanins that gives to this wine a good ageing potential. Ideally, serve at 18°.
