2012 will remain an atypical year with a succession of periods alternating warm/cold, and a discreet sun in summer. This quite bad weather had delayed the life-cycle and had required vigilance and ceaseless care in the vines. The beautiful warm and sunny days of September permitted an ideal harvest for a quality 2012 vintage, with complex aromas and beautiful balance.
Tasting Note :
Colour : Robe of an intense red and supported with reflections ruby.
Nose : Nose firing at spices an red berries.
Palate : The soft mouth, on aromas of blackberries and mocha. Finale persistent spices with supple and well balanced tannins.
Soil : Soil: Clay and limestone on rocky subsoil
Winemaking : Plot by plot, each grape variety is harvested separately. The grapes are put into steel tanks during 4 to 6 weeks, which allows a slow and gentle extraction, prof of a perfect expression of our soil. Every plot of land is identified and converted into individuals stainless vats to perform and sublimate the future assemblies.
Maturing : After racking, wine is pumped down into oak barrels (1/3 of new barrels coming from the best French coopers) where it matures for 12 months. It will only be bottled 18 months after the harvest.
